Scoil naomh bríd

Talbotstown, Kiltegan, Co. Wicklow.

Our School:

Our school is a Catholic school under the patronage of the Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin. Our overall aim in Scoil Naomh Bríd is to create a secure and happy learning environment so that each pupil can reach their full potential. We acknowledge and appreciate the important contribution which children and their parents/guardians make towards achieving this aim. We are a small school with a Big Heart!

Scoil Naomh Bríd Talbotstown is a rural school situated at the foot of Keadeen Mountain near the village of Kiltegan. The current school was originally constructed in 1962. The school has three mainstream teachers, two special education teachers, two special needs assistants, a secretary, a cleaner and a caretaker. The school is newly extended and now consists of four classrooms, two support rooms, a staff room, an office, two playgrounds and a large playing pitch.
Extra-curricular activities play a big role at Scoil Naomh Bríd, Talbotstown. The children receive tuition from external coaches in tag-rugby, soccer, GAA, basketball, gymnastics, hip hop dancing and swimming. We enjoy quizzes and the senior children participate in several quiz competitions throughout the year.

Ethos: Scoil Naomh Bríd is a Catholic school, closely identified with its parish. The policies, practices and attitudes of the school are inspired by the Gospel values preached by Jesus Christ. Religious education is provided for the pupils in accordance with the doctrine and tradition of the Catholic Church. The ethos of the school is reflected in our Code of Discipline with the emphasis on respect for all pupils, staff and parents. Our aim is to create a happy, caring atmosphere where children feel secure and can achieve their full potential. Each child is encouraged to develop their own talents. Equality of access is a key value in our school. We are an inclusive school community and welcome pupils of different nationalities, religions, cultures and ethnicity.

Our Mission Statement:
In our school, we strive to attain high educational standards, catering as much as possible for each child's individual needs, in a happy and secure environment. We aim to explore and maximise the strengths of each individual child in an atmosphere of mutual respect and tolerance so that each child would become a well-adapted, caring and honourable adult.
